Course Description and Career Skills

This course provides a thorough introduction to computer hardware, networking, security, and professional practices essential for IT and technical support careers. Students will learn to identify and mitigate workplace safety hazards, understand computer components and their functions, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and software systems, and configure various operating systems and network technologies. The curriculum covers network media, topologies, devices, and management, along with essential security fundamentals, including firewall configuration, authentication protocols, and threat mitigation. Emphasis is also placed on communication skills, professionalism, customer service, and adapting to emerging technologies to prepare students for successful careers in information technology and network administration.
